WHY LEARN GERMAN?

1. German is the most widely spoken language in Europe.

Germany is the most populous country in Europe with its 82.3 million inhabitants (August 2018). German is not only spoken in Germany, but also other countries in Europe: Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, and in northern Italy, eastern Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, eastern France, parts of Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia, Romania, as well as in other parts of Europe.

2. Germany is the land of innovators.

Germany, known for engineering, technology, cars and history, is essentially a land of ideas, inventors and innovation. A trademark for quality and originality, Germany has become one of Europe’s top innovation leaders. As the frontline of new technologies, Germany becomes an attraction for research and development in various fields.

3. Germany is an attractive study destination.

Germany is the third most popular destination among international students in the world. More than twelve percent of students at German universities come from abroad. Germany invites young people from all over the world to study in its highly, internationally popular University of Applied Sciences, Technical Universities and Universities of Fine Arts owned by federal states. And the best part is that most German universities do not charge any tuition fees.

4. Germany financially sponsors students through scholarships.

German universities and educational organizations award a generous number of scholarships and other support to students in Germany. Moreover a wide range of exchange programs between Germany and many other countries are offered for both school and university students.

5. Knowing German creates business opportunities.

Many big German companies such as BMW, Daimler, Siemens, Lufthansa, SAP, Bosch, Infineon, BASF, and many others need international partners. Knowledge of German increases job opportunities with German and foreign companies within the country or abroad. Proficiency in German helps to function productively for an employer with global business connections. Knowing the language and culture of German business partners improves relations and therefore the chances for effective communication and successful cooperation.
