GNTB Asean Rodshow 2019 to Surabaya

As part of the ASEAN Roadshow 2019 the German National Tourism Board (GNTB) came to Surabaya within the time period 6-8 October 2019. The delegation comprised representatives from GNTB Germany and Singapore as well as companies and institutions representing the German Tourism industry: Activo Travel GmbH, Berlin Tourismus & Kongress GmbH, Herzt, Lufthansa, Maritim Hotel Geselschaft, McArthurGlen, Tourismus+Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main, and Weisser GmbH – Haus der 1000 Uhren.

In Surabaya EKONID organized a Schengen-visa-workshop in cooperation with the Vfs Global – a visa service company assigned by the German Embassy Jakarta, and a networking dinner in the premises of Vasa Hotel Surabaya. The Schengen-visa-briefing was attended by 78 participants from the Indonesian outbound tourism industry. Mr. Christopher Tjokrosetio – Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Surabaya gave a short welcome remark.

The Schengen Visa Talk was presented by Mr. Prashant Kansara and Ms. Dewi Puspitasari from Vfs Global. In this occasion, they gave a brief to the representatives of the Indonesian travel agencies regarding issues the travel agents are faced with when it comes to the application for the Schengen visa. The morning event was then closed by a B2B rountable and lunch break.

In the evening, the delegates gathered again in a networking dinner and had the chance to meet representatives of travel agencies associations in Surabaya. The evening was moderated by the Singapore-based GNTB representative, Ms. Gladys Chia.
